In April 2026, an Everett nonprofit called with an emergency: the kitchen's dish sink had stopped draining completely, with a staff sign already taped to the faucet. Willie and Logan arrived the same day and worked the problem in sequence. The sink drains into a grease trap that discharges straight into the wall, so they vacuumed the standing water out of the sink first, then popped the cleanout on the trap's outlet side — and found about an inch of standing grease inside it.
A quarter-inch machine down the line came back with chicken skins and no water movement, so they opened the three-inch cleanout on the inlet side and pulled out more skins and grease by hand until water ran from the sink to the cleanout again. Then they lifted the lid on the trap itself: a solid layer of congealed grease across the top, at least two inches thick, burying the outlet baffle. Nothing more could come apart without flooding the room in grease water.
So that is what they told the customer, in writing: get the trap pumped, and we return to confirm the outlet side is clear. No guessing, no tearing into a trap that a pump truck should empty first. Flow was restored to the cleanout the same afternoon, and the building knew exactly what had to happen next and in what order.

It cools, hardens and narrows the line, and the blockages start happening downstream where they are more expensive to reach. At that point the fix is hydro jetting and a camera inspection of the side sewer rather than a sink-side visit. Keeping the trap pumped on schedule is much cheaper than cleaning the building’s sewer.
